United vs. Tottenham

Although the stats were in United's favor, considering they had not lost to Tottenham in several years, I was still very nervous whilst I waited for kickoff. This was the end to a very difficult run of games for United, and if they came out with the win, the title race would be completely open. With league leaders Manchester City only two points ahead of United, and a run of tough games coming up for City (including a game against Chelsea who has already beat them this season), United would become the new favorites to win the league.
The first 45 minutes were very competitive, however it looked as if Tottenham would take the win. United had very few chances, and they were not playing with the usual swagger they play with. However, the game of football is one that cannot be won by statistics. Minutes before halftime, Ashley Young whipped in a corner kick which found Wayne Rooney's head, and it's no surprise that Rooney found the net. As the second half started the United players began to play a lot better then they had in the first half. It remained competitive, but it looked as if it was game over after Ashley Young netted two beautiful goals within minutes of each other giving United the 3-0 lead. Defoe managed to net a consolation goal as the United defense switched off, but it was not enough for Tottenham as United sealed the vital three points.
United now have an easy run of games, and if they can make their way to the end of the season without giving up too many points, then United could be looking at their 20th title!
Glory Glory Man Utd!
Ashley Young won man of the match, do you think he deserved it? Who else performed admirably in this match?
